As part of its long-term strategy, the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava provides young musicians with performance opportunities, including in the orchestral concert repertoire. Performers are selected through regular performance competitions, which are open to soloists aged 15 to 26 who submit a fully completed electronic application (Application for the interpretation competition) by 14 October 2026. Artists who have not performed in the JFO’s previous two concert seasons are eligible to participate.

For the upcoming edition, the competition is open to piano and plucked, strummed and percussion instruments.

The competition rules can be found here.

Competition dates: 29–30 October 2026
