Concerts for schools

Janáček Philharmonic for Schools

One of the key missions of the JPO is to participate in the education of young listeners and to open their doors to the world of music. In addition to concerts for families with children, we offer many morning programs for schools as an alternative to regular lessons.

The overview below serves as a summary of our range of school events. The dates of the workshops and some concerts can be arranged entirely individually, according to the times that suit the school. Apart from the events listed in the offer, we are also able to prepare various events according to specific requirements. For a detailed description, including the program for each of the actions offered, please see the attachment.

Concerts for schools

Special morning concerts have opened the door to the world of music for children and are at the center of our activities for schools. The entire symphony orchestra, together with the Master of Ceremonies, will inform pupils about the music and will enlighten them about well-known melodies, musical approaches, and the creative process.

Workshops for schools

For its educational workshop activities, the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava is equipped with a large set of Orff instruments which makes it possible even for a school group to form an “orchestra” within 90 minutes, in which (almost) everyone who plays does it correctly! And it is this shared experience and active playing which is one of the (many) ways to really get in touch with the magic of music.
