Kaemika corni

Kaemika corni, an excellent French horn quartet founded in 1978, includes horn players from the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava. The exotic sounding name of the ensemble was created by simply combining the initial letters of the first names of the founding members.

KA rel   E mil   MI rek   KA rel

The initial letters were joined to create the name, and similarly the four shiny instruments were joined to create an ensemble which has a refined, cultivated sound and a wonderful tonal range as well as great possibilities of musical color and dynamism. These properties, combined with perfect instrumental technique, enable Kaemika to perform a wide repertoire of pieces of all stylistic periods (from baroque to the present day). In addition to concert pieces, the quartet also plays hunting music, which occupies an important place in its repertoire. In its long history Kaemika corni has received many awards from critics for its radio and television recordings.
