Italian pianist Federico Colli (* 1988) is a sought-after performer on concert stages all over the world since his famous victory at the International Mozart Competition Salzburg in 2011. Bach and Scarlatti’s “clavier” could have represented various technical forms of keyboard instruments, at that time, but the music of these two colleagues of the same age had already established itself as a solid part of the repertoire for the modern concert piano. Bach as an ideal defender of a contrapuntal approach, Scarlatti as the basis of modern piano techniques and virtuosity.
