As part of its long-term strategy, the Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava provides opportunities for young musicians to perform, including concert repertoire accompanied by the orchestra. The selection of performers takes place periodically in the form of a performance competition open to performers/soloists aged between 15 and 28 who submit a fully completed electronic application form by 19 November of the year in question. Participation is limited to those who have not performed in the previous two JFO concert seasons.

For the coming year, the competition is open to piano and other stringed instruments, plucked instruments and percussion.

Competition date: 18-19 December 2023 (the exact date will be announced after the closing date, the draw will take place on the day of the competition)

Competition venue: Vesmír Cinema, Zahradní 1741/17, 702 00, Ostrava

Evaluation of the competition: until the end of January 2024
